Course Description
Our two week hands-on Introductory Course is your chance to create a handsewn kilt in just 9 class days plus one at home study day. Whether it’s for yourself or a loved one, you’ll finish the course with a beautifully made, one-of-a-kind kilt and the pride that comes with learning a traditional Scottish skill.
Designed for those with some hand-sewing experience, we run several courses between May and August every year. Classes take place in the Edinburgh Kiltmakers Academy in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town.

Our 2026 Introductory Courses are now open for applications on the following dates: 18th May - 29th May and 22nd June - 3rd July.
